DESCRIPTION

Architecture Office is an emerging firm based in Portland, Oregon, founded by three partners with over four decades of combined experience in the design, documentation, and execution of a wide variety of buildings--from schools, to restaurants, to recreation facilities, to residences. Licensed for professional practice of architecture in Oregon, Architecture Office is also certified by the State as a Tier 1 Emerging Small Business.

PHILOSOPHY

Architecture Office finds inspiration in the passions of our clients the power of places to enrich sense and emotion. Through our work we focus on making meaningful contributions to the ethical evolution of the city while preserving a deep connection to the natural forces and landscapes that surround us. With ongoing links to academia through various professorships we strive to cultivate an ethic of respect for the art of building, an appreciation for history and culture, and of ideas made tangible. We endeavor to create architecture that embodies the greatest aspirations of civilization, that sustains natural systems and promotes the dignity of all people. We believe that beauty reaches beyond the visual and that clarity is truth. We value rationality over novelty, experience over style, and permanence over fashion. We work to enrich the mind and the senses with sustainable, meaningful and original environments, carefully conceived and meticulously crafted.
